At long last I have a new book out. I know, right? It’s been ages, but for me the writer’s life is one of seasons and I have been in a season of rest and reset. During this time I have been pursuing some other exciting interests that I will share soon.

In the meantime, newly released is this collection of eight short stories. In Life’s Short – So Are These Stories, some were published in various anthologies. The others are fun little adventures that were a joy to write.

These stories hit like an old photograph—faded, sharp, and impossible to forget.                 – Beta reader

The house key was a hard lump in my pocket. I fished it out and stared at the door, all rough grain and knotholes.
Open me. You know you want to.

What are you willing to give up to save what matters most?

When ordinary people encounter the uncanny—from haunted espresso machines and living tumors to dream‑theft clinics and shape‑shifting guardians—they must sacrifice pieces of themselves to save love, talent, and wild places before those gifts are taken forever.

These short tales stitch intimate loss to uncanny possibility: grief that rewrites memory, institutions that commodify dreams, and mythic creatures that defend what remains of the wilderness. In each character’s desperate struggle for redemption and survival, every choice matters—and the ultimate truth can only be discovered by turning the page.

Now available in ebook, audiobook, and paperback.
