Anthology Action – Thorns

I’m thrilled to announce my paranormal western short story, Euphoria, is included in the Thorns anthology by Black Hare Press.

Short stories are sometimes a challenge for me, as the characters so often take off on their own and insist on novels. That’s okay. It’s better to let them go because the best stories are those that are just as long or as short as they need to be. Ever read one of those condensed books? Yeah, kind of like condensed soup. Yuck!

But Ray Kesney (my young, inexperienced, and completely overwhelmed sheriff of 1875 Euphoria, Utah) was all right with a short story and so was I. I liked it and thought it worthy of submission.

It was accepted, which is always exciting, but even better it put me in touch with someone I didn’t expect to work with again: the talented editor Jodi Christensen.

So thank you, Jodi and Black Hare Press for the confidence in my work and the opportunity to join a great team. And thanks, too, to Ray Kesney and the other characters in Euphoria who chose to walk onto the stage of my little writer’s brain and share their story so I could write it.

I’m honored to be among so many other talented writers. If you enjoy creepy short stories, you can find it here.

Oh and one more thing. The cover blows me away!
