Autumn in the high country has arrived in full force. Bold, vivid colors; warm days and cool nights; a time of transition from busy summer to quiet winter. Fall never seems to last long enough to suit me, so I spend as much time as I can taking it all in.
The dogs love it, too. We take evening walks and longer hikes. Sometimes naps between walks are required.
The Aspen trees are making a spectacle of themselves before their long winter sleep.
Set all that against the vivid blue skies, with backdrop of towering peaks and the first snow of the year, and autumn in the high country truly is magical.
